THE PROCESS

THE WORK IN PROGRESS

It has been awhile since I've updated my artistic endeavors. I've been busy biking and running. I attempted a race from Astoria to Virginia which ended in Montana, so I'm lucky to be back in the studio again. Since then I've been doing a little remodeling, putting up drywall and paint. And the windows have some new trim. Starting to feel like an actual work space. I'm working with encaustics again and hoping to get into some good places to show some of my current work. It's been a hell of a year.

What have I been up to lately?

Commissioned paintings for Raven's Husky Haven and Rescue. The inspiration for my current work.

PORTRAIT PROJECT 2013

The first painting is always the pilot. I usually change my approach by the time I start the second.

PROCESS

I've been in Chicago for about 3 months now. I'm still getting used to the endless amount of rain. I'm missing the mountains and the desert heat. Those 100 degree temps..I miss those. I am however finding joy in my work here. I'm working almost everyday and getting lots done. Lucky for me I've also had time for biking and climbing. All these things keep me balanced. I'm now on my third painting. I have set up an Etsy shop with lots of new cards. I will be spending the next week sewing (with mom's help) a batch of chalk bags. You will not be disappointed!

Last night's work.

THE WORK SPACE

Contrary to popular belief, I like a tidy space.

Just don't open any drawers!
